Data & Analytics Manager

We are currently recruiting a Data & Analytics Manager (m/f/x), to enforce our Portfolio Improvement Team in Antwerp.

What will be your impact?

As a Data & Analytics Manager, you will support our portfolio companies in their IT, data and analytics strategy and initiatives. Your role will be, from an investors perspective, ensuring the successful delivery of selected objectives. You will proactively support the portfolio company in shaping and driving the company’s IT, data and analytics strategy, overseeing timelines and deliverables. You will build and maintain strong relationships with our investment team and relevant stakeholders at our portfolio companies.

The role of the Data & Analytics Manager will be involved in:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies for Waterland portfolio companies that align with business objectives, leverage technology for competitive advantages, and ensure IT infrastructure supports operational needs.
  • Lead the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and growth, drive digital transformation, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Define and implement data-driven value creation strategies, establish sustainable data foundations, and integrate data to improve offerings and optimize processes.
  • Apply AI and machine learning to address business challenges, develop digital solutions for new opportunities, and create advanced analytics models for decision-making.

The Data & Analytics Manager will report to the Partners of Waterland Private Equity, based in Antwerp.

This role is highly varied and involves working in a supportive, dynamic team. The projects you could work on offer continuous learning and support you in growing your future career with us. You will be in regular contact with existing portfolio companies as well as with new investment opportunities, requiring travel on a national and sometimes international basis, but we are always mindful to work these around your personal commitments.

Be your true self

We are seeking candidates (m/f/x) who can meet the following requirements:

  • University education, with excellent results, preferably complemented by a Master’s degree;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT strategy, data analytics or engineering roles, ideally at least 4 years of experience from a top strategy consultancy;
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing operational, data-driven improvements;
  • Strong enthusiasm for staying current with industry trends and best practices, with a commitment to continuous learning about the ad tech industry and market needs;
  • Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms and hands-on experience with modern technology solutions including data warehousing and pipeline development;
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala, and extensive practical experience in visualization tools;
  • You are a pragmatic self-starter, able to act independently, while involving stakeholders at key moments;
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, and can adapt your message and communication style to the audience addressed;
  • You are humble, and have a low ego;
  • You are intrinsically motivated by the impact you have on your environment: you are ambitious and driven, and want to make companies better;
  • You demonstrate a strong organizational acumen, and are able to interact with all levels of an organization;
  • Profound knowledge of Dutch and English. French is a plus.
